Wanneer hun baasje de dag voor Kerstmis plotseling op zakenreis moet, blijven de hondjes Arfamis, Barkos en Wagos alleen achter om de Kerst cadeautjes te bewaken. Maar dan wordt er ingebroken en nemen de dieven alle cadeautjes mee... En ze stelen zelfs de Kerstboom!

Dat laten onze Drie Dogadiers niet op zich zitten. Ze zetten de achtervolging in. Zal het ze lukken om alle cadeautjes op tijd weer thuis te krijgen? En hoe blijven ze uit handen van de hondenvanger?

Met hulp van de Kerstman beleven Arfamis, Barkos en Wagos hun grootste avontuur ooit!

The film is hilarious from beginning to end, with talking dogs, a nutty dog catcher who wants to be the best catcher ever, a weird character that takes care of the lost and found at the mall, and the helpful Santa who wants to help them get home. It will have everyone in the family laughing during the Christmas season.

• Moviereelist.com: Monster Summer works very hard to give the audience the hazy, wistful nostalgic past that none of us really remember and it succeeds.
• Crunchonthis.com: Gibson’s presence definitely gives the film some credibility (and watchability) and he doesn’t simply phone in his role here as you would expect. Even Kevin James and Lorraine Bracco try to breathe life into parts that could have been played by anyone. In the end, you get a decent enough family-friendly horror film with zero bad language and nothing that should give the kids lasting nightmares.
• Eu.detroitnews.com: There's a bit of a "Stranger Things" current running through "Monster Summer," a spooky-enough piece of gateway horror which unfolds in the era when kids rode their bikes until the streetlights came on and entertained themselves with tall tales about their neighbors. "Monster Summer" captures a wholesome sense of wonder, and it depicts that time in life between childhood and adulthood when the world is both too big and too small at the same time.

Na de dood van zijn vader, wordt de 11-jarige Mick (LEVI MILLER) naar de uitgestrekte ranch van zijn grootvader (BRYAN BROWN) in Pilbara gestuurd. Daar, in de Australische outback, wacht hem ongetwijfeld een keihard, dodelijk saai leven. Maar niets blijkt minder waar. Grandpa mag dan al een stugge keikop zijn, Mick raakt er al snel bevriend met de kleurrijke figuren die er wonen en werken en… een rode pup die hij Blue doopt. Blue is echter meer dan een hond, aldus een wijze Aboriginal. Hij is een Marlunghu, een geest die voor allerlei narigheid zorgt. Dat blijkt niet gelogen ook, maar net door die avonturen worden ze ook onafscheidelijk. Tot de bevallige Betty Marble (HANNA MANGAN LAWRENCE) in Pilbara verschijnt en ook de sociale onrust van de verre buitenwereld zich manifesteert…

Red Dog – True Blue is een hartverwarmende, op ware feiten gebaseerde familiefilm over de vriendschap tussen een jongetje op de drempel van de volwassenheid en zijn trouwe hond. Het is ook het oorsprongsverhaal van de film Red Dog (2011), één van de meest geliefde films aller tijden down under.

• Supermarcey.com: A surprisingly strong and crowd pleasing prequel that was definitely better than it had any right to be. It did still capture all the humour, adventure, heart and Aussie spirit that made RED DOG such a joy to watch.
